ATHLETICS HEADS TO ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIPS

Jordan is sending six young athletes to compete at the 2nd Asian Youth Athletics Championships in Bangkok, Thailand from May 20-23.
Dr. Khalid Zeidan, Chef De Mission, said that it was important that the youngsters continue to get major international exposure as part of their development programme through to the seniors.
The squad includes Ahmad Nofal (Long Jump), Mohammad Abu Zeineh (100m and 200m), Husni Kayed (2000m steeplechase), Shareif Al Atawlah (3000m), Nour Al Qadi (High Jump and Long Jump and Alya Bushnaq (100m and 400m).
Over 150 athletes representing 19 Asian nations will compete in 18 events. The championship is as qualifying event for the World Junior Cup that will be held in Kenya in July.
