WEHDAT OUT OF AFC ASIAN CUP
May 16, 2017
Wehdat did their best to try and pull off an unlikely victory in the two-leg AFC Asian Cup regional semi-final, but came up short against the impressive Wehdah of Syria at the King Abdullah stadium.
Trailing 4-1 following the first leg, Wehdat needed to win 3-0 and gave themselves a great start with an eighth minute goal from Abdullah Deeb.
But the Syrians shut up shop and held out to book a place against Iraq’s Al Quwah in the final of West Asian competition.
