HANDBALL LOSE TO TURKEY
They may have lost all three group matches but the Jordan handball team can be pleased with their return to international competition after a long absence.
The team was asked at the last minute to fill in for Afghanistan who withdrew, and today’s 26-21 defeat to Group B champions Turkey showed a marked improvement on the previous two defeats.
They will now play against Pakistan in a play-off for seventh or eighth place.
