ABU AWWAD WINS GOLD IN SLOVENIA

 Age is proving no barrier to one of our sporting legends after 42-year-old Khetam Abu Awwad won gold at the 14th ITTF Slovenia Para Open Championship in Lasko, Slovenia.

The wheelchair table tennis star took to class five title by beating Serbia’s Borislava Peric-Rankovic in the final 11-8, 7-11, 13-11, 11-9).

Meanwhile, Osama Abu Jame’ took silver in the Men’s class three individual after losing to Austria’s Egon Kramminger.

Teammates Fatimah Azzam and Fatin Elimat missed out after losing in the early rounds of their competitions.

Jordan is participating with seven athletes with Ibrahim Dardas, Mazin Al Shamayleh and Abdullah Faraj making up the rest of the squad who will compete in the teams’ category.
