FAISALI CLINCH LEAGUE TITLE

 Faisali have won the title following a dramatic final day in the 2016/17 Manaseer Jordanian Pro League season.

Sharing top spot with Al Jazeera going into the last game, it was a case of which team could keep their nerve and it was Faisali who took the initiative by thrashing Sahab 4-0 in front of a packed Amman International Stadium.

While Faisali were winning, Al Jazeera were held 2-2 against Al Ahli at Zarqa, allowing the multiple champions to take their 33rd title.

Lucas opened the scoring for Faisali in the 53rd minute before Libyan Akram Al Zewi added two more in the 58th and 75th minutes.

Yousef Al Naber added the fourth in time added on to seal the title. At the other end of the table, Baqa’a escaped the drop by beating Shabab Al Ordon 3-1, meaning that Al Sareeh will be relegated after they lost to That Rass 2-0.

Al Sareeh drop through the relegation trap door with Sahab. Wehdat finished their season in third after beating Al Hussein Irbid 2-1. Final positions: 1. Faisli 46 points (champions) 2.
