Jordan is sending a big delegation to the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku, Azerbaijan, and the athletes have been urged to make Jordan proud from May 12-22.
At a team briefing held in Al Hussein Youth City, Nasser Majali, JOC Secretary General, said that the whole of Jordan would be supporting them with HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, President of JOC, sending his best wishes to all those taking part.
Majali said that Jordan is sending over 80 athletes to compete in 12 sports so that they can gain invaluable experience as the Kingdom continues to build on its new strategy launched earlier this year.
The athletes were briefed on the latest preparations and urged to present themselves as excellent ambassadors for Jordan.
Jordan will be represented in Taekwondo, Tennis, Judo, Shooting, Swimming, Karate, Wrestling, Boxing, Wushu, 3X3 Basketball, Paralympic and Handball.
This will be Jordan’s biggest ever delegation for an Islamic Games having won nine medals previously including three golds, one silver, and five bronzes.
It is held under the supervision of the Sport Union for Islamic Games which has 57 countries under its umbrella.
