BOXERS WIN OPENERS AT ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIP

It was a winning start for Jordan at the Asian Boxing Championships in Turkmenistan.
Ziad Ishiash, the younger brother of Jordan Olympian Hussein, won his first round match against Uzbekistan’s Sangay Wangdi in the 69kg category.
He will fight another Uzbekistani, Shakhram Giasov, the silver medalist in the Rio Olympic Games, in the next round.
Mohammad Al Wadi also won, beating Afghanistan’s Mohammad Ishaq in the 56kg weight to meet China’s Zhang Jiawei next.
