JORDAN PRAISED BY WADA FOR LEADING REGIONAL FIGHT AGAINST DRUGS CHEATS

Jordan’s leading role in combatting doping in sport has been praised by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) during a meeting in Amman on Wednesday.
HRH Prince Feisal Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Olympic Committee (JOC), hosted Mr. Olivier Niggli, Director General off WADA, ahead of a meeting of the West Asian Anti-Doping Organisation which has been based in Amman since its inception.
Mr Niggli thanked HRH Prince Feisal for the JOC’s work in supporting the fight against drug cheats and shared the latest developments in the Agency’s efforts to pursue a sporting world free of doping.
HRH Prince Feisal reiterated Jordan’s solid support for WADA and assured that the Kingdom would continue to play a lead role in promoting fair sport. The Prince also pointed out that Jordan tests all of its athletes before they compete in major international events and consistently delivers anti-doping education and information to the sporting community.
The meeting was attended by Nasser Majali, JOC Secretary General, and Prof Kamal Al Hadidi, President of the Jordan Anti-Doping Organisation.
