ANOTHER BRONZE FOR JORDAN

 Jordan has won a second bronze medal at the Kazakhstan Open Taekwondo Championships.

Following Taleen Al Humaidi’s bronze, her teammate Shahed Al Turman clinched the same colour medal in the -62kg weight by reaching the semi-final.

She qualified for the last four by beating Kazakhstan’s Kopbolsynova Meruyei 17-7, but found Vietnam’s Ha Thi a step too far, eventually losing 11-6. Meanwhile, Wa’ed Al Turman missed out on the medals after losing a tight match to Russia’s Kurmanova Alfia.

The event has been used as a warm-up for Jordan’s participation at the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in Azerbaijan next month.
