TAEKWONDO BRONZE FOR JORDAN
Apr 23, 2017
One of the next generation of rising taekwondo stars has shown her potential by winning bronze at the Kazakhstan Open Taekwondo Championships.
Taleen Al Humaidi has come through the junior ranks as one of the best in Asia and is already making a name for herself by reaching the semi-finals this week.
The 19-year-old beat the host’s Koryak Lyubov 9-8 to reach the medal places, but eventually lost 5-2 to another Kazakh fighter, Anastassiya Ostrovskaya, in the last four.
Her teammates, Wa’ed and Shahed Al Turman, will compete in the 73kg and 62kg categories on the final day of the championships, which Jordan are using as a warm-up for next month’s 4th Islamic Solidarity Games.
