JORDAN CONFIRMS IT WILL HOST MAJOR MULTI-SPORT EVENT

Jordan has confirmed that it will be up to the challenge of hosting the first Arab Self Defence Games which is scheduled to take place in Amman in October.
A meeting held in Al Hussein Youth City confirmed that a Local Organising Committee will be formed with the Jordan Olympic Committee spearheading the preparations under the supervision of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees (UANOC).
Currently 11 sports are scheduled, but it was agreed to leave the door ajar for potentially more sports to be added to the event programme.
Judo, Boxing, Karate, Taekwondo, Wrestling, Wushu, Kickboxing, Ju Jitsu, Muay Thai, Fencing and Martial Mixed Arts are included at present.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Sari Hamdan and Dr. Khaled Atyat, JOC Vice Presidents, S’oud Bin Ali AbdulAziz, UANOC Secretary General, and Nasser Majali, JOC Secretary General.
